Rachel Kurland is a digital editor for KYW Newsradio.

A Florida native, she moved to the City of Brotherly Love after earning a bachelor's degree from the University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications in 2015.

She worked as a staff reporter for the Jewish Exponent for nearly three years — a newspaper more than 130 years old — and managed its social media accounts and website. Kurland wrote and edited for The Florida Times-Union, the New York Post, City & State PA, and other magazines and online publications. She has been recognized for her work by the Pennsylvania News Media Association and the Society of Professional Journalists.

She enjoys trying to pick a TV show or movie to watch on Netflix, but will almost always revert back to "The Office" or "Parks and Rec." She also occasionally volunteers to walk local shelter dogs that are seeking fur-ever homes. She lives in Center City.
