Samuel Gardner III, is the Assignment Manager for CBS 3 and The CW Philly's Eyewitness News team.

 

Prior to joining CBS, Gardner served as Assignment Editor/Futures Coverage Planner at the NFL Network in Los Angeles. Previously, he was National Assignment Editor for CNN which he joined in 2007. While at CNN, Gardner was part of the 2008 Peabody Award-winning team that produced the Presidential Debates and campaign coverage. Gardner has also held positions at ABC NewsOne, WSB-TV and WSOC-TV.

 

A graduate of Morris Brown College, Gardner earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism. He also completed a Master of Arts degree in strategic communication and leadership from Seton Hall University.
